The Final Thought!!!!

Wow! I am sad and happy to be with the novel. I am sad because I greatly enjoyed the novel and had an amazing time reading and sharing my thoughts along the way but, I am also really glad I now get to finish the book I am reading for pleasure and Im really realived to not have to worry about blogging anymore.
Over all I reallyenjoyed the book and I am really glad Mr. Davis choose it for our class to read and we got the opportunity to see the play.

What are your final thoughts on the book?

A Myth or the Truth???

Someone once told me the story of how Mary Shelley wrote the book Frankenstein. The story is that on weekend her and her husband and her friends went up to a cabin to stay the night. While they were up there they got high and decided to see who could write the scariest story. No one but Mary ever finished there story and Mary story was Frankenstein.

What do you think? Is this how it really happened?

Who really deserves sympathy???

Who really deserves everyone's sympathy....the monster or Victor?

I personally think that the monster is the one who completely needs the sympathy and compassion. He was the one who was basically dropped in this earth with no one to love or care for him or show how humans act. If I were him I would have been pretty terrified of everybody and the way everything works. And I cant possibly imagine what it was like to be alone in the world trying to figure out how to communicate and act with everyone. It would be like being dropped onto another planet and left to fend for yourself. I think the monster was actually pretty clever in spying on the family in the cottage and learning how to speak from them and about fire and everything.

The play

Today, my Honors English class went to see the play, Frankenstein, at the Barter Theater. While driving to the theater I was questioning whether I was going to enjoy the play or if I was going to be bored out of my mind. Boy it was an awesome feeling to be imediantely intreged by the production. Barter's cast and staff did such an amazing job making the play come to life and capturing each character prefectly. I had really been wondering how they were going to dress and monster and how realistic it was going to look. I was peasantly surprised that they did such a fabulous job. He looked way better than I had ever imagined. Did you enjoy the play as much as I did? What were you most impressed with?

Victor Frankenstein Unleashed

There are multiple sides to Victor Frankenstein's personality. In the early years of his life he is an innocent young man who is fascinated by science but as he becomes more engulfed by recreating life he quickly turns into a guilt-ridden and self contained man. As a young man Victor worked and studied extremely hard in order to learn everything there is to know about science. He thrived at the University at Ingolstadt but, in a few short years he gained all the knowledge he's teachers had to offer. He then soon began to study and research the spark of life. Visitor worked for many years in the isolation of his apartment to create his monster. Little did he know that the results of all his hard work would greatly affect his family and his emotional stability forever. After the monster murdered William and caused Justine to be executed he quickly slid down a slippery slope into depression and horrible guilt. Even in real life many people follow the same path that Visitor did and become someone they once were not as a result of a terrible tragedy. Have you yourself ever gone throught this or known someone who has?

Creating a Monster!!!!!

On a cold and rainy November night, Victor Frankenstein gave a cold, lifeless figure the spark of life after many years of excruciating, hard work. Victor's journey to create life was very lonely and solemn. He locked himself in his apartment for many years and for a long time had no contact with his family or friends.Victor was completly and totally fascinated by life and death and this took up every inch of brainspace he had. In preparation for his creation he spent many months studying and examining life and death. He even went as far as to study a worm's eyes and brain. Victor also spent many more months gathering materials to form the monster out of. Most of his materials came from the graveyard where he dug up death decaying bodies and used many of their bones and organs. Its hard to imagine how dedicated and consumed Victor was by his creation. I know I have never personally ever been close to being so into something but, have you?
